The Role of Family Businesses in Building Entrepreneurial Leadership Talent Among University Students

Family business is an organization in which a decision making is influenced by family members through leadership or ownership. An individual position in society at large depends on the family social status or respectability rather than on individual achievements. It is because if thefamily ties are strong, there may be tendency to corporate more closely within family unit than in other relationship. Thus, the aim for this research is to study the role and impact of family business in developing entrepreneurial leadership among university students. A detail of survey hasbeen conducted to identify the role of family business among university students. Results show that succession and continuity, continuous involvement and the family have significant value towards entrepreneurial leadership of university students. This research is useful for family businessand academia to study further on the relationship between the roles of family business and entrepreneurial leadership of university students. Recommendation for future research is to look further on the aspect of how families can carefully plan and monitor developments process of learningstudents in their families.
