Creative Dance to Enhance Children’s Kinesthetic Intelligences with Mild Intellectual Disability

摘要

This article aims to describe the creative dance activities as an effort to enhance the kinesthetic intelligence of mild intellectual disability children. The research method used action research. The subjects of this study were lightweight children aged 7–8 years at Special Schoolin Tangerang. The study was conducted two cycles consisting of eight meetings in cycle 1 and Nine meetings in cycle 2. The results showed that children’s kinesthetic intelligence enhance after applied creative dance activities. The improvement can be seen on the achievement of children’skinesthetic intelligence score at pre cycle of 49.50, cycle I was 58.17, and cycle II was to 76.50. These results can be concluded that the children’s kinesthetic intelligence with mild intellectual disability can be improved through creative dance activities.
