Flow-Structure Coupled Analysis in Vacuum Chamber for Improvement of Elastic Restoration of Automobile Head Rest Pad

摘要

This paper proposes method to place headrest pad into sealed chamber, and maintain vacuum pressure to inflate and blow up the foam cell. The purpose of this process is to break closed cells of the foam and change them to opened cell to improve the elastic restoring force of automobile’sheadrest pad. This paper analyzes the vacuum flow inside chamber using computer simulation. As the analysis results, design variables such as vacuum flow inside vacuum chamber, pressure change, speed, etc. are obtained. Stress and deformation to the structure are confirmed through flow-structurecoupled analysis based on above results. This result will be used as a design parameter for the vacuum chamber to improve the resilience of the headrest pad.
