Employing a Knowledge Base in the Decision Making in e-Government

Knowledge Base is a strategic approach to enhance transparency in establishing electronic government initiatives to curb corruption and strengthen government’s integrity and relationship with the citizens. Nevertheless, electronic government application is facing various issueswhich potentially may impede its application. One of these issues is the gap between the citizens and decision making in the e-government. This study gives is intended to elicit the imperative role of knowledge base and the decision making in e-government citizen better. This paper focuseson three focal points. The first point is the gap between the citizens and the decision making; the second point is engaging citizens by using the knowledge base in decision making; and the third point is employing the citizen’s self knowledge to support decision making model in e-governmentinitiative. This research attempts to discuss and suggest possible solutions to enhance the decision making model in electronic government by depending on the citizens’ self knowledge, which is generated from the knowledge base.
