Research Needs: Issues and Problems of Talent Working Graduates University Programmes of Engineering and Technology

Today’s jobs require graduates with working experience, who can work optimally and in an orderly manner. Employers have a certain set of requirements and criteria in selecting prospective employees such as an academic degree, soft skills, extracurricular abilities and other talents.The study was conducted with the aim of looking at the identified issues and problems in the industry related to the university graduate programmes of engineering and technology. This study uses the instrument of the partially structured interview. These interview sessions were carried outwith 2 people from the industry and 5 unemployed university graduates. This interview exercise was run to find out the talents or skills required in the industry. The recordings of the interviews were transcribed; issues and problems were then identified. The results show that the employersseek skilled and talented students of engineering and technology to work in their firms.
