Advance in sensor technology has brought transformation in the industry with the implementation of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). This technology has been implemented in numerous industry and application such as surveillance monitoring, agriculture, smart home, and military. However,the energy recovery and security issues have become the latest research area to improve its efficiency and effectiveness. The WSN features such as power, limited storage, and processing approach has made it difficult to tackle the said issues. Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH)is one of the best protocols with high energy efficiency and this is the focus of this research due to the reduction in the network power consumption. This paper will present the analysis result on the LEACH protocol performance under the Black Hole attack. It highlights the comparison ofthe node density between twenty, forty, sixty, eighty and hundred nodes with two different base station locations. LEACH patch and Black Hole code which represent one of Denial of Service attack, are applied in the N 2.35 simulation software to observe the performance of the WSN network. Themetrics to be measured from the simulation are the network lifetime, the amount of delivered data to the base station and total energy consumption. The result highlights the effect of the Black Hole attack, identify the network behavior which can be used as guidance for other research forimproving the security of other protocol. From observation, it shows that the eighty nodes are chosen as the suitable number of node density as it has the minimum impact on the Black Hole attack. Nevertheless, the location at (50, 175) is selected as the best option for the base station locationsince it has a longer network lifetime and a higher number of data sent to the base station.
