摘要

New roadblocks are affecting concentrate shipments to customers from MMG’s Las Bambas mine in Peru. The blockades on various sections of the road between Sayhua, around 50km from Las Bambas, and Velille, 250km distance, in Chumbivilicas province within the Cusco region began on the 22nd September. Earlier this month the company issued a partial force majeure with contractors and was evaluating doing the same for copper sales. The company also warned of possible disruption to production because supplies are not getting into the mine. The government has since declared a state of emergency and authorities are currently trying to restore access to the road. Media reports had suggested that the mine had halted 90% of its operations.
