More than 20 energy storage systems across South Korea went up in flames over the past year or so,prompting the government to task business and domestic uers not to use their devices as a temporary safety measure.As BESTmag went to press,an explanation of sorts had emerged following an expert review.But scrutiny of ESS technologies is continuing after a grid-scale facility exploded in a separate incident in the US.There is no immediate threat to the increasing adoption of ESS facilities in homes,businesses and on an industrial scale worldwide.Indeed,the backing of major global institutions such as the World Bank,for mass deployment of energy storage is a positive signal.
