PennEast Pipeline is a US$1 billion, 116 mile (186.7 km) natural gas pipeline that will stretch from northeast Pennsylvania to the Trenton area in New Jersey. Last December, a federal judge upheld eminent domain power for PennEast for all of New Jersey, where there are 136 holdout landowners who have refused to allow surveyors on their property. However, PennEast isn't out of the woods yet. The State of New Jersey appealed the eminent domain decision because some of the land is state land. In March, federal court granted a request to block construction of the pipeline in New Jersey only (not Pennsylvania) until the appeal is decided.
