MARINES MASS LAUNCH

OVER THE LAST few years we've become accustomed to seeing 'elephant walks' by different US Air Force units all over the world. On May 19, 2020, the US Marine Corps' Marine Air Group (MAG) 24 organized it's own version in the shape of a mass air mission with 16 aircraft being launched in quick succession. MAG-24 is part of the 1st Marine Air Wing and is the largest MAG in the service. The group consists of five flying squadrons that operate five different types of aircraft, making it the most diverse MAG in the entire Marine Corps. It is based at MCAS Kaneohe Bay on the Oahu island of Hawaii, which is, where the launch of this mass air mission took place.
