The Lockheed F-117A famously tackled targets in downtown Baghdad during Operation 'Desert Storm'. The USAF pilots also focused on Iraq's huge airfields and its seemingly impenetrable hardened aircraft shelters. THE LOCKHEED F-117 continues to capture the imagination of the aviation world in 2020, with fleeting glimpses of still-flying examples operating mysteriously in the western US. Nearly 30 years on from its true baptism of fire in the skies above Iraq in 1991's Operation 'Desert Storm', the Nighthawk is still going about its stealthy business.
