BASED AT WHITEMAN AIR Force Base, Missouri, the B-2A Spirit is short in supply but high in demand. With only 20 B-2s in existence, and often three or four examples in major phase maintenance at any given time, framing can prove something of a concern. Factor in routine maintenance at Whiteman, and that translates into just a handful of aircraft being ready to go at any given time - perhaps just a dozen or so.
