Manapal, a non-processing tomato cultivar with the gene Tm2nv, which conditions yellow seedling and resistance to TMV (tobacco mosaic tobamovirus), was crossed with Red Agate 140 and foreign cv. Macelo. From the segregating progenies, 3 lines showedstable inheritance of Tm2nv. Crossing with these lines, a number of combinations were obtained; 8746 X Red Agate 140 and 9076 X Red Agate 140 were highly productive, resistant to diseases and suitable for processing. No reciprocal effect of heterosis was observed. Since 1990, seed has been produced on a small scale. Local tests and production experiments for processing quality were conducted from 1991 to 1992.
