Abstract > The design of high‐performance catalysts for hydrogen generation is highly desirable for the upcoming hydrogen economy. Herein, we report the colloidal synthesis of nanocuboid Ni <sub>2</sub> P by the thermal decomposition of nickel chloride hexahydrate (NiCl <sub>2</sub> ? 6?H <sub>2</sub> O) and trioctylphosphine. The obtained nanocuboid Ni <sub>2</sub> P was characterized by using powder X‐ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy. For the first time, the as‐synthesized nanocuboid Ni <sub>2</sub> P is used as a bifunctional catalyst for hydrogen generation from the hydrolysis of ammonia borane and electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution.
