EPA upholds unreasonable risk findings in final TSCA review of TCE

The US EPA has concluded that trichloroethylene (TCE) does pose an unreasonable risk to human health in 52 of the 54 conditions of use (CoUs) it evaluated. In its most recent final TSCA risk assessment, the agency confirmed many of the preliminary findings from its draft evaluation of the substance released in February. TCE, it says, poses unreasonable risks associated with dermal and inhalation exposure for workers, occupational non-users, consumers and bystanders.
