摘要

Dr Sofie Christiansen, a senior researcher at the Technical University of Denmark has said that changes to OECD test guidance (TG) 414 for the prenatal developmental toxicity (PDNT) study will improve regulators’ chances of identifying endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) for 'negligible' extra costs and time. The updated TG 414 requires measurement of the distance between the anus and the genitals of rat foetuses, which can shorten in males exposed to EDCs. Dr Christiansen is a national coordinator for the OECD’s TG programme and was part of the team that developed and validated the recently approved changes to TG 414.
