What next on Brexit?

Brexit can be a divisive topic but, regardless of how they voted, I believe the vast majority of the British public would agree that it represents the greatest political challenge the UK has faced for many years. It impacts on almost every aspect of our society and businesses, which will be heavily affected by leaving the EU. The UK exports 60% of chemicals to, and imports 75% of chemicals from, the EU; the chemicals industry is the second largest exporter to the EU after the automotive industry and the second biggest manufacturing industry overall, with ￡10bn gross value added, annual turnover of ￡32bn and total exports of ￡26bn. It’s always important to remember that the chemicals industry is a basic building block of almost all other industries: without chemicals, there is no automotive sector.
