EU Commission adopts ban on three allergenic fragrances in toys

The European Commission has adopted amendments to the toy safety Directive that prohibit allergenic fragrances and impose requirements on industry to label articles containing them. The measure bans atranol, chloroatranol and methyl heptine carbonate in toys and their materials, adding them to the list of 55 banned fragrances listed in Annex II of the Directive.
