摘要

We investigated a simple and rapid microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) procedure that was optimized for extraction of polyphenols from spruce wood bark. Important variables that can potentially affect the extraction efficiency, namely temperature, ethanol concentration and extraction time, were optimized using support vector machines and an evolutionary algorithm. Experiments were conducted in this study towards the construction of a modeling technique. The optimum conditions obtained include: ethanol concentration of 50%, extraction time of 3 minutes and temperature of 60 degrees C, which led to the total polyphenols content (TPC) of 58.25 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE g(-1) of spruce bark tested).
