摘要

The principal negative regulatory step in insulin signaling pathway is accompanied with protein tyrosine phosphatase. Among the protein tyrosine phosphatases, protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) performs an important role in controlling insulin and leptin signaling pathways, as evidenced by research utilizing transgenic mice without PTP1B and antisense-based oligonucleotides targeting PTP1B.1 Accordingly, the inhibition of PTP1B has been suggested as a novel therapeutic target in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, and in the case of patients interested in finding strategies to avoid the gaining of weight.2 Although it is noted that there are several types of PTP1B inhibitors that have been reported, there are also useful new types of PTP1B inhibitors with better pharmacological properties which are still being tried.3
