摘要

The design and synthesis of supramolecular cages based on metal-mediated assemblies have been extensively investigated as powerful tools to realize the desired shapes and sizes using various electron-accepting metal complexes and electron-donating organic ligands. These supramolecular cage compounds not only provide aesthetically unique structures, but also allow for diverse applications in the fields of biomimetics, drug delivery, organic catalysis, molecular recognition, and host-guest chemistry. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in the construction of hetero-multhnetallic supramolecules due to their diverse applications. Among them, hetero-multinuclear supramolecular cages using metalloligands, instead of simple organic electron donors, have received special interests due to their potentially useful properties, such as luminescence, elec-trochemical properties, and magnetic properties, which could be generated by secondary metal or metal-metal interactions.
