TACKLING LONELINESS THROUGH DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE

Around nine million of us in the UK are lonely, and London has even been identified as the 'Loneliness Capital of Europe' in a global survey of 20,000 people. With the ability to affect anyone at anytime, loneliness is a rising epidemic felt across the population. An alarming four in ten of us1 have reportedly felt depressed because we felt alone, and this is higher amongst women (47%) and those aged 18-35 (53%).
