Delayed choroidal and retinal blood flow in polycythaemia vera patients with transient ocular blindness: A preliminary study with fluorescein angiography

Polycythaemia vera (PV) is a rare disorder, classified as a mye-loproliferative neoplasm, that leads to excessive proliferation of erythroid, myeloid, and megakaryocytic lineages within the bone marrow (Marchioli et al, 2013). Various ocular manifestations in PV have been presented as case reports (Mailath et al, 1976; Blood et al, 1997; Gray et al, 2003; Parija et al, 2008); however, to the best of our knowledge, the causal link between PV and ocular disease has never been studied.
