Report on the thirteenth international workshop on the identification and functional, evolutionary and expression analysis of transcribed sequences: comparative and functional genomics workshop

This thirteenth workshop in the series "Beyond the Identification of Transcribed Sequences - Functional, Expression and Evolutionary Analysis" was renamed the Comparative and Functional Genomics Workshop and held at the Sanger Center, Hinxton, England, November 2-5, 2003. The meeting was sponsored again by the United States Department of Energy, and for the first time also by the Wellcome Trust. The eighty attendees discussed a broad range of topics relevant to gene structure, and functional and regulation analysis in the era of complete and draft genomic sequences from multiple organisms.
