US ethane-based PE contract margins decline on higher ethane costs

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US integrated contract margins based on ethane for polyethylene (PE) declined for the week ended 15 September on higher ethane costs, the ICIS report showed on Monday. US integrated contract margins based on ethane were down by 0.9% for low density polyethylene (LDPE) and by 1.0% for high density polyethylene (HDPE) because of a 4.4% increase in ethane costs and a 3.0% drop in ethane contract cracker co-product values.
