US ethane-based PE contract margins rise on lower ethane costs

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US integrated contract margins based on ethane for polyethylene (PE) rose for the week ended 5 May because of lower ethane costs, the ICIS report showed on Monday. US integrated contract margins based on ethane were up by 0.2% for low density polyethylene (LDPE) and for high density polyethylene (HDPE), as ethane costs declined by 1.9%, while ethane contract cracker coproduct values fell by 3.0%.
