Reliance-Sibur plans halogenated butyl rubber unit in India

LONDON (ICIS)--The Reliance-Sibur elastomers joint venture between India's Reliance and Russia's Sibur is planning to build a halogenated butyl rubber unit at Reliance's petrochemicals production hub in Jamnagar in India's Gujarat state, it said on Tuesday. The halogenated butyl rubber unit - the first such facility in south Asia - would be added to the joint venture's 120,000 tonne/year butyl rubber plant, which is currently construction at Jamnagar and due to be commissioned in 2018, according to a statement by Reliance-Sibur.
