Styropek seeking US mid-September EPS price increase

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Mexican producer Styropek is seeking a 3 cent/lb ($66/tonne) price increase, effective 15 September, for all of its regular and modified expandable polystyrene (EPS) grades; according to a customer letter. Styropek said the price increase is due to pressure on raw material costs. ICIS styrene spot prices rose by 4.99 cents/lb from 13 July through 10 August. ICIS benzene spot prices climbed to $2.96/gal from $2.85/gal on 20 July.C
