China’s Yantai Wanhua has no timeline for MIBK start- up

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yantai Wanhua has not fixed a timeline for the commercial start-up of its new 15,000 tonne/year methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) line at Yantai in Shandong province, according to a source close to the company. The line is operationally ready but market players said that the company might start up the plant at a later date as acetone and MIBK prices are at two-year lows and a later start-up date would allow for better margins.
