Vancouver port lockout ends after tentative deal is reached

TORONTO (ICIS)--The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada and the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) have reached a tentative deal to settle their labour dispute, officials said in an update on Thursday. As a result, the lockout of some 6,500 workers at Canada’s busiest port ended at 10:45 Pacific time - less than three hours after BCMEA’s lockout notice took effect.
