China to conduct nationwide safety inspections after chemical factory blast

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China will launch a month-long special inspection across the country on dangerous chemicals, mines and firefighting, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management. The Ministry had held a special meeting on Wednesday to address safety issues in the wake of a deadly blast at Tianjiayi Chemical at Yancheng in Jiangsu province on 21 March that killed at least 78 people and injured over 600 others.
