US clears Amcor-Bemis, deal to close on 11 June

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Plastics packaging firms Amcor and Bemis have received regulatory clearance from the US Department of Justice for their planned combination, they said in a filing late on Thursday. The $6.8bn all-stock deal agreed between Australia’s Amcor and US-based Bemis in August 2018 will create a global packaging major with a combined revenue of $13bn/year.
