China’s Wanhua Chemical runs Yantai MDI plant at 70-80%

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Wanhua Chemical is running its 600,000 tonne/year methylene di-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) unit in Yantai, Shandong province, at 70-80% of capacity, a company source said late on Tuesday. The plant achieved on-spec production on 10 December. It resumed operation on 24 November after more than two months of shutdown following a fatal explosion on 20 September, when the unit was about to start a month-long turnaround.
