US Honeywell to spin off chemical business

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Honeywell plans to spin off its resins and chemicals business to shareholders, the US-based industrial group said on Thursday. The new publicly-traded chemicals company, to be named AdvanSix, will be "a leading manufacturer" of nylon 6 resin, caprolactam, and other chemical intermediates, Honeywell said. The spin-off is expected to be completed by early 2017. The new company will be led by Erin Kane as president and CEO. Kane is currently vice president and general manager of the resins and chemicals business.
