Asia MPG-USP gains may be capped on expected stable PO prices in May

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Asia’s spot prices of pharmaceutical-grade propylene glycol (USP), a grade of monopropylene glycol (MPG), are expected to be maintained in May, amid a stable near-term outlook for feedstock propylene oxide (PO) prices in the domestic China market, industry sources said. In the week ended 29 April, average prices of drummed USP were up week on week to $1,300/tonne CFR (cost & freight) northeast (NE) Asia, and $1,500/tonne CFR southeast (SE) Asia, according to ICIS data.
