Malaysia's BASF PETRONAS Chems starts construction of HR-PIB plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--BASF PETRONAS Chemicals on Thursday started construction of its new 50,000 tonnes/year highly reactive polyisobutene (HR-PIB) plant at Kuantan in Malaysia, the Malaysia-based joint venture firm said in a statement. The plant, situated at the BASF PETRONAS Chemicals’ integrated complex in Gebeng, is expected to start production in the fourth quarter of 2017.
