摘要

Without modeling object shape and object reflectance properties, generating new realistic images under variant illumination is relatively difficult. However, if we do modeling, it means lengthy computation, especially for the objects that have a complex geometric shape. In this paper, we propose a fast method to synthesize a realistic image under an arbitrary illumination with only three color images. In the method, we use a look-up table procedure to estimate the surface orientations, instead of complex computations. The look-up table can be used for arbitrary textures of various albedos or of various colors, as long as it satisfies the dichromatic model, once it is created. Moreover, we introduce a simple way to separate the diffuse and specula reflection components from the three colorful images. In the end of the paper, we give a complete algorithm to synthesize realistic images under arbitrary illumination conditions only by three input color images and look-up table.
