Melting of silicon in ore smelting furnace on rectified current

The experience of creation of industrial ore smeltingfurnace (with 6.4 MW capacity) for melting of metallurgicalsilicon on rectified current is examined. The data concerningefficiency of the unit and technological process comparing withoperation conditions using alternative current are presented.
