FIELD: metallurgy.SUBSTANCE: control method in the electric ore-smelting furnace including one or three furnace transformers with secondary windings connected with electrodes according to diagram "delta on electrodes", and furnace bath making together with the electrodes the electric load according tom diagram "star with insulated neutral", when the in-line currents and voltages at HV side of the furnace transformers, and electrode voltages are measured, additionally phase currents at HV side, in-line and phase voltages at LV side of the transformer are measured; the following is set: active power of furnace, high and low limits of the electrodes position in the furnace bath, minimum and maximum number of voltage tapping step of the furnace transformer corresponding to maximum process voltage at the LV side of the transformer in accordance with specified process parameters, base electrode length, energy set-point of electrode losses, single electrode bypass and slippage, active power consumption for melting; active, reactive and total power of the furnace and further operations are calculated.
