Especial attention in the period of revival of the Russian metallurgy should be paid to the environmental developments, that have also economical and social importance. The main sources of contamination caused by metallurgical production and prospective directions of their minimization are observed. Today scientific organizations of nonferrous metallurgy have made the large volume of developments in the field of combined and basic modular technologies and equipment, including those aimed on solving the ecological problems.
