Synthesis and investigation of some reactions of N-amino-N-demethylcodeine

By modifying the methods published in the literature, the preparation of N-amino-N-demethylcodeine carrying an asymmetrically disubstituted hydrazino moiety has been carried out. Since the reactions of such compuonds have not been studied, we investigated the nucleophilic character of the amino group by acylation, Michael addition and formation of hydrazone derivatives.
