Midstates Petroleum Emerges From Bankruptcy

Midstates Petroleum Co. Inc. said Oct. 21 it emerged from bankruptcy having erased about $2 billion of debt. In May, Midstates filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. In the reorganization, the company eliminated about $2 billion of debt along with more than $185 million of annual interest expense.
