US producer of metallised, brushed films Brushfoil has completed a significant expansion to its plant in Guilford, Connecticut. The company has leased an additional 8,000ft2 of space to accommodate a new brushing line that enables it to reduce lead times and produce films up to 1,828.8mm wide.Details of the new machinery are not being disclosed, but Brushfoil says it will feature "the widest- machine of its kind and include a combination of next generation electronics, automation and versatility".Earlier this year, the company introduced two new brushed patterns - Crosshatch and Tru-Stainless. The Tru-Stainless pattern is claimed to closely mimic the appearance of real stainless steel, while Cross-hatch offers the result of the brush pattern going in both the horizontal and vertical directions.
