Measurement of UHF band radio propagation in outdoor environments by use of TV broadcasting wave

Recently, it has been expected that the digitalization of the terrestrial TV broadcasting using UHF band from 470 to 770 MHz will fuse both communication and broadcasting services. This frequency band can realize broadband and high mobility. In order to realize the measurement of the UHF band radio propagation, we have developed the mobile measurement device that can simultaneously record both the received level and the position information using the UHF band receiver and OPS receiver, respectively. This paper shows the concept of proposed measurement method and the characteristics of the developed mobile measurement device, and describes the experimental result measured around Hiroshima City.
