The global steel overcapacity issue continues to be troubled question for the global community. Although a lot of stepshave been already made, more efforts should be down the road.Thomas Gibson, president and CEO of American Iron and Steel Institute, which consists of member companies thatrepresent over 75% of US steel capacity, mentioned that the report on results of the Global Forum on Steel ExcessCapacity in Berlin, was properly focused on the need for governments to eliminate market-distorting subsidies andother measures which contributed to excess capacities.
