Turkish mills, having sold considerable volumes of December production, are mostly trying to keep their prices firm.Buyers, however, both domestic and foreign, are pushing for discounts.Domestic HRC offers in Turkey remain relatively stable within $545?550/t EXW for end-December – early Januaryproduction. Some small deals were closed last week at $550/t EXW base, but for November rolling. In the meantime,large customers want to close a new round at around $530?535/t EXW, according to sources. Mills, however, are takingtheir time to see further market developments, some of them expecting increased demand from re-rollers. “Turkishcoated steel producers sold a lot to the EU recently within, let’s say, $700?720/t FOB [for 0.5 mm Z100] so they areexpected to restock, some have already started,” a local source told Metal Expert.
