Deal prices for coils in Germany keep weakening amid slow buying and import pressure. Insiders doubt the local millswill be able to increase prices in the near term.German coils market is dull in the middle of November as stockists are shunning large bookings, buying just hand-tomonth,in order to sell all the material till the end of the year. Inventories are higher than planned, insiders noted. “Theactivity these days is quite low; companies already started preparation for year end bookings and/or the budget for2019,” a German trader told Metal Expert. As the result, deals for coils in Germany were concluded by approximatelyEUR 10/t lower than two weeks ago. In particular, the latest deals for HRC in the local market were heard at EUR540/t EXW, base, January delivery. Deals for CRC and HDG were concluded at the lower end of the base price range.
