Given reducedsupply from Brazil, the material has added $2.85/t in contracts since May 6, whenthe last deal was reported, while the benchmark Australian iron ore has increasedby only $0.5/t over the period. Apart from expected shortage, the raw materialfrom Brazil is in demand as “customers are taking high-grade products mostly, becausemargins remain large despite weaker steel price,” a trading source told MetalExpert. At ports, where trading stayed high, most buyers remained interested inPilbara Blend fines 62% Fe, insiders say.
