Chinese wire rod export prices continued to move down very slowly, although overseas trading remained minimal. Some suppliers have already left the market ahead of the week-long holidays in early October.Beitai Steel and Jiangsu Shagang Group, two top wire rod makers and exporters, were offering their products (SAE1008, 6.5 mm) at $470-475/t FOB versus $475/t FOB from both of them earlier. The slight reduction did not lead to any improvements in foreign demand. “There are almost no export deals for wire rod on all destinations,” a head of export department at one of the major mills told Metal Expert.
