Indonesia’s krakatau Steel advances with Bf project

Indonesia’s largest steel producer Krakatau Steel has started its new blast furnace (BF) the construction of which was offcially completed in December 2018.Krakatau Steel commissioned its 1.2 million t BF at the company’s site in Cilegon last week, Metal Expert learnt. The construction was fnished in December 2018, but the BF has been under installation process until June. With the BF, Krakatau Steel will be able to optimize production costs, reducing electricity consumption by 50%, Metal Expert reported.
